Re: christianity?
...and just to dispel in advance any fundamentalist's attack :-)
- Jesus never asked for churches to have a hierachy of priests. In HIS eyes, we were all equal. He didn't even consider himself any different then the rest of us. Never wanted anything for himself that would make him stand out, unlike todays priests, of whom, I've never seen even one dare dress in simple clothes like Jesus did.
- Jesus never wore golden embroidered fabrics, never treated others as his inferiors, never did all these things that priests today do.
- Jesus never asked for churches to be rich, with ornaments in gold, with stained glass windows, with empty sermons which no one really understands.
- Jesus DID ask to start believing. He DID say that we could move mountains if we only had faith. Some of it was proven scientifically with what we know today as a "placebo" effect (most of Jesus' doing was healing). There are ways to make placebo work in more then 99% of cases. No church I went to ever insisted on importance of faith based on reality, only on empty faith while "give us your money and you'll go to heaven, courtesy of this church".
- Jesus never asked for rich to give their money to the church. NEVER. He did say that those who have immersed themselves too much into materiality would do best to give up their riches for poor children, orfans or other people in need that they probably helped create while doing their business...
- Jesus never judged people and never thretened them (the way most of today's christian churches do). He did however call things for what they were: those who were hiding behind their Jewish origins while stealing from others he told that they were not real Jews. Those who were making sure that their prayers were noticed by everyone he told that they were just show-offs... and so on.
- Jesus never told anyone not to have sex. he never judged those who did it either.
- He also never told anyone to rape small children.
- Jesus never said or implied that churches (e.g. Vatican) should get involved with war profits, manipulations and so on, nor did he ever ask for an earthling to be his ambassador here - like Pope for instance.
