Re: christianity?

#42781,

[If he was not crucified, we wouldn't need Jesus. It would mean that humanity has learned all those things that Jesus tried to teach us, and that we all remember them all too well... however, that's not the case, hence anyone who tries to "save the world" will end up on some kind of a cross. Until one nice day, when we all become like Jesus and stop feeling jealousy and malice towards those we perceive as "better" then us.]

"'sounds' about right. so we then can't call out for God as we wouldn't know that God existed would we?."

[Well, if he raised from dead, then he DID survive the Crucifixion, showing that evil people cannot destroy what came from God.]

" what i meant was if Jesus was not mortally wounded. if he 'died' on on the cross but he survived spiritually that would be down to interpretation and ones beliefs. for instance 'martyrdom'. it is a possibility isn't it?"

[I don't think that existence of Christianity is based on EVENTS; rather Christianity is there because people want it. There are millions of "forms" of Christianity, and I think that if Jesus were here among us and talking to Larry King on CNN, he wouldn't really see himself as belonging to any of those denominations... Sort of like what Karl Jung said of Jungian psychoanalysts: "I am glad I am not a Jungian psychologist".]

" so you are saying then that 'Jesus giving his life for all mankinds sins' wasn't the basis of Christianity.? are you sure about that?

do you feel then than 'man' has taken upon himself how one should become a Christian (hence the Denominations).
in the light of which do you think then that makes it a 'mockery' of Christianity? or is it simply put down to different interpretations? Christianity, 'the way i see it)?' Tom.
