Re:Bioidentical Hormones, Got me into trouble

I guess we are all different. I tried the bio-identical hormones as recommended in Suzanne Somers book The Sexy Years but got no relief. I was having periods 2 weeks out of 4, every month. I was labeled pre-menopausal. That went on for years.

Then I tried the Emerita Pro-Gest progesterone cream and my periods became regular for a month or two and then stopped altogether. I felt normal again.

I wasn't eating a great diet, had not discovered Curezone yet so had done no cleansing. I think the only problem was that none of the professionals I talked with ever questioned why my hormones were messed up or how to fix them. They just looked for ways to supplement.

Right before I started the Pro-Gest, the only option I was given was to get an ablation. That is where the Dr burns the entire lining of the uterus causing it to scar. The patient never bleeds again. (or so they hope) It just seemed so harsh but how long can you stand to have one period after another? The Dr assured me she does these all the time and they are perfectly safe and everyone is so happy after. It was that or I would be back for a total hysterectomy in a few years.

I thank God I didn't listen to her and sought a second opinion. I am trying now to get healthy enough to stop the Pro-Gest. I have cut back from my normal dose of 1/4 tsp 2x per day to 1/4 tsp 1x day. So far so good.
