Re: Thinking Veggie

I was at another forum and someone put of this url so this is my first message here. The American Heart Assoc. (AHA) does not place a minimum on carbohydrates. The site below has on it (plus link to them) that the AHA says not to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry.

Americans need about 50 grams of protein daily but eat about 5 times that much. Please note that 50 grams is less than 2 ounces. For a meat that is 70% protein, that is less than 3 ounces. That extra protein is why so many Americans get heart attacks, cancer and strokes. See this site under diet for more on this with sources. Also there are good carbs and bad carbs. This has to do with glycemic indexes and glycemic loads.
