Chewing gum can get your gastric juices flowing and cause hunger. So you may want to eliminate the gum if this happens. The fasting purists will disagree with me but I to occasionally chew sugarless gum. I don't do it daily but you have to do what works for you. Having terrible breath at work is a turn off also. Peppermint tea, brushing your teeth and the tongue also helps.
