Chewing gum while fasting

Hi everyone, Is it okay to chew gum while water fasting? I find that my breath is so bad, even with numerous tongue brushings during the day that I need to chew gum constantly while at work. Is this okay? Am I hurting the fast in any way? Does anyone know? Appreciate any info/advice, especially with regards to bad breath... Thanks, Phil Tweet
