Re: why do we discuss eating dead decomposing flesh, and attempt to justify it? we are not really living!!!
The fortunate thing for the earth, is that there are more people who will never learn truth, health or happiness, than there are those who would care to search for the truth in anything. This selection makes for a balance that this planet can cope with, particularly if the current increasing trend towards non animal food sources continues. The USA, were it a vegetarian or fruitarian nation, would be able to grow every bit of food it needed, and still have massive amounts for export.
However, the USA is a predominantly meat biased country, and continues to ruin enormous areas with the waste of the cows that occupy lifeterm stock pens. This is making parts of the western US very unpleasant indeed; so much, that California cancelled licenses for dairy stock yards, which then moved to the desert in Arizona, and into New Mexico. There the stock yards are polluting the aquifer, and spreading respiratory diseases to unsuspecting residents.
The problem in increasing, and will continue to make very sure that people local to those yards have no chance whatsoever of living until they are over 120. The only real solution is to kill the cows, burn them, and use the ash as fertilizer for crops; but of course, go to Yuma, Arizona, and look what they have done to the extremely fertile area down there... Instead of creating Organic farms, with the abundance of water they have, they chose to build golf courses, shopping malls, and high dollar housing.
Fruit grows so very well in that area, and is a very good source of food, particularly when added to a diet including occasional greens, and occasional seed and nuts.
It is true that the human body is capable of living over 120 years, but the incidence of that happening is very rare indeed. In the last 100 years, less than 20 people anywhere on earth have lived that long. This, of course is not proven, as the
Science that published it does not accept the word of mouth from 'uncivilized' places, so maybe many more lived that long. I would love to join their ranks, would not you. Extreme old age need not be the horror of modern medical life - were sense and dignity are ignored and the already dead still breathe, but if, during the first half of the expected span, you repair the damage done by misinformed diet, surely you can have a chance at health, for at least another 60 years. This is the truth that I seek, spending many hours learning new subjects, and the improvements in my, and my family's life and health is encouraging.
Maybe I should write a book, but if I did, I very much doubt anyone would read it.
