Try eating a bowl(one cup)of plain oatmeal(cook it a little thin to better tolerate it) instead and see if this helps. It is a complex carb that will help balance the bloodsugars for about 5 to 7 hours. If this works then you know what the problem is. If not let me know and we can address other possiblities.
