I am a certified night owl, as is my whole family.

For a few years I was living with my cousin. She was a certified morning person. sometimes she would go to bed at 8 or even 7 pm! But usually more around 9 pm. And then she would naturally wake up at 4 or 5 am.
So while I was living with her I got into an earlier sleeping schedule, going to sleep between 10 and 11. Going to sleep at 10 or 10:30 really worked out well for me, because I had to get up around 7 a.m. regardless of when I went to sleep. I do have a high sleep requirement, but it was great, I was really refreshed.
But it's hard for me to do, since my family is staying up late and just getting things started in the evening (and even when I'm alone, I'm that way).

All that to say, that I've tried it and it works well, when I MAKE it happen.
