Have you tried liver?
We had similar probs with our cat and hiding the crushed pill in liver worked. Not sure whether it was because he goes gaga over liver, or because the liver hid the smell/taste.
We split the crushed bits into several portions and put each in a slit in a small piece of liver, out of sight of the cat.
