Re: Red skin on dog-chewing paws

Hi Barb. Sorry to hear about your dog and its distress. This is a big question.

It sounds like allergies, which can be tough to find out the underlying cause. How old is your dog? What kind of dog is it? What do you feed your dog? Has your dog had vaccinations, when and how many? What other symptoms has the dog had or has now? What other type of medications is she on...like heartworm meds or flea meds, etc?

Most allergies are related to food. It is good that you are giving coconut oil and your dog may seem to be getting worse, but it could possibly be a healing crisis. If you can feed a raw food diet, this is the best thing to ultimately eliminate allergies as it boosts the immune system to a very high level.

What else have you tried to date? Any topical skin solutions? Have you taken the dog to a holistic vet? Have you tried feeding any other essential oils, vitamins, minerals, etc?

Sorry to not have a quick fix idea and instead asking more questions...
