moreless re: the ongoing kelp dilemma

Hi again

I don't believe the kelp I am using is helping me. I take 3-4 T a day and still have thyroid problems. As of today I am upping this amount to 6T to see if it makes any difference. Do I always have to take the kelp with the drink? I have tried taking the drink 6 x day and it gives me the 'scoots' [too much too soon].

The problem I have is that I cannot seem to get my hands on any kelp of good enough quality to help me. In Australia I cannot find any Norwegian kelp except some already mixed with other ingredients in "superfood" blends and such [usually for racehorses and dogs]. I also have been unsuccessful in finding someone to ship kelp to me. The laws re: importing 'plants' are very strict here. I have done a lot of searching and will continue untill I find a way around this. It may take some time.

In the meantime...

To assist my thyroid I also take 1-3 T coconut oil per day and eat quite a bit of seaweed in my soups and salads [but it often comes out the other end undigested as does the kelp powder].

I do eat a lot of cabbage and cauliflower as it seems to be better quality than most of the produce around at the moment. As these are implicated as thyroid suppressors do you recommend eating less of them untill I can get better kelp? In which case that means eating more lesser quality items or just less in general.

Also, I realise that you do not support the use of elemental iodine but in this case do you think it is worth a try as a stopgap while I source better kelp? I have some Lugols iodine in the back of the cupboard somewhere. I only ask this as what I am doing at the moment is not working. Many of my problems have been solved by the lime water and BSM but I have several symptoms which are increasing. I believe that better kelp is the answer but I am wanting to make the best decisions based on what I have available to me at this time.

Thanks again for your knowledge and assisstance.
Nicole
