Re: A few thoughts & questions, also blood sugar?
Wow, thank you SO much for your detailed post and all your insights. It's very encouraging! I have had one or two health practitioners - naturopath, chiropractor, colon hydrotherapist...tell me that I shouldn't fast, like I'm not strong enough or too toxic or something, but that was awhile ago, and I think if I do some really careful preparations in terms of cleansing and dietary restrictions, I might come through it just fine. I had forgotten about the possibility that it might help some menstrual issues. I think I have endometriosis, though I can't know for sure without laporoscopy (which I refuse to have done), but I've got all the "symptoms" of it, and the amount of clotty blood that comes out of me every month is astonishing and a little scary. I'm pretty sure the enlarged ovaried on ultrasound and the heavy periods are due to some kind of chronic infection - candida, parasites, etc., and it would be great if a fast could help clear that out.
Did you have any kind of hormonal imbalance that leveled out with fasting? Maybe it's too soon to tell. Also, did you return to the fruitarian diet? I am really skeptical about whether it's appropriate for everyone to eat nothing but fruit, but I know very little about that diet, so I'm curious to learn more.
I also have kind of a high pressure job - I work at home, self-employed, for a demanding bunch of doctors (of all people, quite ironic), and I'm a little worried about meeting daily deadlines if I have any trouble on the fast.
anyway, I'll be watching for your future posts! Thanks again.
