Strange Rash, Peeling Skin

I am concerned over a rash that I have developed on both sides of my labia. It first began as just a sensitive, itching area. I thought that it was a heat rash, so I used Gold Bond powder for the irritation and the itching and also used a three day yeast infection treatment, just in case. This was last month. It went away, but it has returned and this time, progressed to the point that the skin has thickened and formed a white, flaking scab. There is no blood or sign of infection. It is insanely uncomfortable because it itches like crazy. Several people have told me that a yeast infection can cause this sort of a rash, but I have never experienced anything like this when I have had a yeast infection in the past. Two days ago, I treated it again, this time with a one-day yeast cream and the itching was ten times worse the following day. Yesterday, it was much better, but today it is again very itchiy and the skin continues to thicken and crust, turn white and flake off. I am very concerned. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?
