Re: Agnostics Can KNOW

Hey, I'm a big old Atheist. I was an Agnostic in High School, after I was a Jesus Freak for 4 weeks. (It was because of a guy...of course)

I became an Atheist after studying Theology at a Catholic College for 3 years. Studying the world's religions was a complete eye opener. I was fascinated by it from a social and political and historical standpoint. Thank goodness I took other classes, so that I was able to switch my major before I graduated.

Perhaps that's why the Witnesses (no offense to anyone) preach to their young parishioners not to go to college (it's a fact). They say, that those that do, end up leaving the faith (surprise). Instead, they are not to use up their time with schooling, but studying the bible. The poor Witnesses won't even come to my door anymore, I usually lecture the hell out of the young ones.

I think, when you have a bird's eye view of all the world's religions, you start seeing patterns. You also wonder why there are so many. I still, to this day, think that religion is innate in man. I could give you my thesis, but you'd be bored to tears.

So, because of this, I'm very careful about tearing down people who have faith. I believe it is their right, just like it's my right to have an abortion and to be an Atheist. I do detest when people try to impose their religion on others, when the other may not have the same ideology. To me, that 's rude.
