Re: One person's version of Christianity 101 nmi
that is anothe lie. Yes, their are hypocrites. Yes there are those that take advantage of people. But, Jesus when he went to the temple and came out and they were outside gambling, through up the table and called them hypocrites. He also said you pharisees in the streets dressing so nicely, acting holy..(and I'm paraphrasing) You have YOUR reward. He called them HYPOCRITES. There reward in other words was other people thinking they were so good and holy and Godly. When in fact Jesus said they weren't. There will always be counterfits of something that is True. Of the Real thing. That's just proof that it's real.
As for the money issue. It is good that we tithe. Tithing is giving 10% of your income. God told us to do it because it shows trust in him. He also GAVE us everything we have. He gave us a body to work. He gave us food, water. He even gave us the job, the car , the house, even if we don't acknowledge this. All he asks in return is to trust him with 10% of all that he gives us. He even promises to give us back way more than what we give. He even says Prove me wrong. What a better deal! What a better way to prove him wrong. He even dares us in a sense. It is our job as christians to find a church that is doing his work. such as, taking food to elderly, witnessing, supporting missionaries, christian school, children ministries, teenager ministries, helping the elderly. That is the kind of church you want to do your tithing with. Those that are about the Lords work.
It's not about giving to the church...only..it's about our trust in God.
