Re: Fun? Hypothetical Question.
Our Government is set up that way, but right now there is a problem with the Separation of Church and State issue.
The decision to outlaw abortion in South Dakota was most likey a Religious-based decision. If Roe is overturned by the Supreme Court, we all know that would be a Religious-based decision. Anytime a Government makes a decision based on Religion, I think that they are asking for trouble. You cannot force one Religion upon another person.
I also heard that South Dakota at first was trying to make it a felony for any woman to travel out of State to get an abortion. To me as a Pro-Choice person, thats like kidnapping and holding someone against their will. For reproductive slavery.
I just don't think that this will work for any State, especially because it's a Religious-based decision, and if I lived there I certainly wouldn't stand for it. I'm sure that there are many other who feel the same way.
