The Dawning Light - Matthew 4:14-16

Jesus did this to bring about what the prophet Isaiah had said: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali along the sea, beyond the Jordan River. This is Galilee where the non-Jewish people live. These people who live in darkness will see a great light. They live in a place covered with the shadows of death, but a light will shine on them.” (NCV)

Peter, along with James and John witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus. Jesus led them up a high mountain. “There he was transfigured before them. His face shown like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.” (Matthew 17:2).

"For as the lightning (bright shining; sun) cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Mat. 24:27).

In the beginning of Revelation 12, John records his vision of a pregnant woman about to give birth. He sees her in brilliant radiance — clothed with the sun, and with the moon under her feet. On her head is a wreath or crown of 12 stars. To whom does the woman and child refer?
