Hi Jenni,

I don't think you and I have really posted before but anyways...I just finished a 21 juice day fast and tried a few of those days with just water, it was HELL. I am proud that you went 11 days on water alone that takes a tremendous amount of will power. My concern is your motivation for fasting. Is it detox, weightloss? II days is great and though I found fasting comforting in that I didn't have any meal planning, the bottom line is you will have to return to food. I think a couple of fasts a year are healthy, but I am worried about your disappointment with your accomplishments will lead you to repeated fasts. After you finish one prolonged fast are you going to go on another one right away? Try fasting for 3 days to bring back your hunger, then break your fast properly if you didn't do it correctly the first time. After a Water Fast for the first few days you are to try juices (sweet ones ie. mango, pear and orange) then revert to a diet of raw food for 4 days or forever if need be.

I did my 21 days on juice and now I am on a raw food diet. I lost 15 lbs. on the fast and I am still losing weight on the raw food. The first 2 days are the worst. Your hunger comes back and you want to eat everything, but I bought a little notebook and am making calorie counts so I don't screw this up. It has been my 3rd day off and still no bathroom though. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's hard coming off the fast because now you have hunger to contend with where we didn't really have it before. Before you fast have a clear plan of what you plan to do when you come off. Repeated prolonged Water Fasts could be really hard and depleting on your body. If you were looking to detox, great...you've done it. Enjoy food again...just differently.
