Re: I appreciate your friendly offer...
You've got me mixed up with someone else. I've not simply said that the Bible is the word of God although I have come to believe that. You will find that I am open-minded, like to study all religions, history and science. I've come to believe in the authenticity of the Bible through much investigative study. I studied "both" sides, and continue to do so in case I have missed something. I welcome your objections or disagreements as an incentive to study different subjects more deeply.
I don't intend to try to "convert" you, but to bring to your attention some facts that you may not as yet considered--facts that impressed me. I would also like a chance to consider the info that you believe controverts the Bible, but I'm not an arguer or debater.
It seems to me that two adults, with differing ideas, should be able to discuss, dissect, discern truth and draw conclusions in a rational manner without negative feelings between them. I am more interested in discovering truth than clinging to my personal paradigm (sp?). I don't study to defend my opinion. I study because I want the truth. The last thing I want to do, is to take a stance and defend it at all costs. It doesn't bother me to be wrong or to make a mistake, but I don't want to cling to erroroneous ideas just because they suit me.
If you are of a like mind, we should have some interesting and profitable conversations, Friend.
