Re: 2nd part response

Hello again,

Regarding the water filtration systems, you want to make sure that the system has the capacity for fluoride removal. The reverse osmosis system by Omni Water Filters claims to have this capacity. You can further research the product at the following website: http://www.omni-water-filters.com/comparing-filters.htm

Doulton Water Filters provide natural (chemical free) water filtration. You can check the system out at the following website: http://doultonusa.com/HTML%20pages/whole-house-iron-sulfates-water-...

Regarding the bedtime dilemma, your son finds comfort or safety in sleeping in his parents bed, not because of the bed; but rather, because of his parents. A solution to making him more comfortable with the idea of sleeping in his own bed is that you and your husband join him in his bedroom at bedtime and keep him company until he falls asleep. He'll feel more relaxed just knowing that you are with him in his bedroom. Make going to his room an exciting adventure for you and your husband. Not only will having his parents with him de-stress him, but your excitement or joy will help to alleviate his fears and make him feel even more special than I know you already make him feel.

Regarding the hydroxyzine before bedtime and throughout the night, because these drugs come with side effects (like an itchy rash), they can and often do cause more harm than good. This is why I refer you to the natural alternatives. Vitamin C is a natural anti-histamine. Also, chamomile, lavender, aloe, comfrey, witch hazel, and colloidal oatmeal have natural anti-itch healing properties as well. You can add these items, in oil form, to his bath for soothing relief. Vitamin E oil is also excellent for providing soothing, healing relief to the skin. I highly recommend the Burt's Bees Vitamin E Bath Oil. A caution with the chamomile tea is to make sure that it is caffeine free.

Regarding the candida, you are correct. I did suggest the chedder cheese removal because of the candida manifestation. Initially, I would just remove the chedder cheese. Soymilk caused a major allergic reaction in my middle niece; and rice promoted constipation (which in turn, promoted eczema breakout) in my nieces. My nieces do drink milk (cow's milk) and still do eat rice; however, the rice is eaten with chicken and brocolli on occasion. The key is balance. Since you referred to substituting the cow's milk with soy or rice, I made the assumption that you were referring to more of a rice cereal than a dinner rice. Quaker Oatmeal has a variety of flavored oatmeals that may serve to be a good breakfast alternative as well. The main thing is to restore balance. It seems that you have gotten the thrush/candida under control; therefore, I wouldn't make the milk switch yet. Milk provides the calcium and vitamin D needed for good bone growth and health, therefore I would take the small step with cheese removal to observe the results before changing the milk altogether. Like I said, it's a matter of balance. It could be an issue of too much of one thing (dairy) and not enough of the other (fiber).

It's so funny that your son claims a store to be his. My niece makes that same claim about Whole Foods Market. Speaking of which, be sure to check out the fluoride free toothpaste for children when you visit Whole Foods. It is more expensive than the more popular commercial brands of toothpaste; but weighing the risk, it is well worth the cost.

Please keep me posted regarding your son's health

aunty
