Actually, I'm finding that I much prefer to peel and chop up potatoes into 1-cm-wide fries, lightly grease a cookie sheet (coconut oil or olive oil), and bake 'em (425-ish) for half an hour. These beat fast food french fries for quality, texture, flavor... The only thing fast food fries have over the home baked fries is convenience, and if you factor in jumping in the car and driving there and back, the "convenience factor" is minimal.
