Oh yes, you shut down pretty good with a long fast! It took me over a month to get going right after the 60 days last summer, and I continued with a cleansing/rebuilding diet for about 6 months.

This summer I am doing a series of ten day fasts with cleansing diet between, and will see if that is easier (it has to be!). I think I told you, about two months after my big one I commenced to losing hair! For about three months I lost hair. My excellent naturopath/nutritionist assured me it was due to metabolic changes from the fast which affect hormones etc. and would stop, and it did... luckily I had hair to spare! My hair is back to normal. But it was strange! I did not lose hair after the 30 day fast I did the summer previous. Hmm.

So did you receive wonderful benefits from your vacation from food? I started last year with a serious mucous overload, having gotten The Crud in December which went into my bronchial tubes and wouldn't go! I did a fruit/veg diet for 30 days starting in April, then the 60 day fast, then six months of cleansing diet and NO mucous problems (it was well into May before I cleared my lungs!!).

My naturopath assures me that excess mucous is the number one killer--that was the stuff that had velcroed itself in many many layers inside my colon (with various little "treats" in the pockets, like dead parasites!) and has taken me over three years diligent work to remove. It has been like a Science experiment every time I hit the potty! Even after 60 days Stuff was flushing copiously. Amazing!

Anyhow, apart from the mucous, I went through a kidney crisis on day 18 and passed a small calcification--had had indicators of kidney troubles before the fast but have had nary a hint since! The Master-Cleanse is a stunningly effective whole system cleanser and I am grateful to have learned of it!
