Shame on you. You are 34 years old, (a grown-up) but yet you expect your Dad to help you pay your student loan so you can travel????? Something is very wrong with this picture. You know your parents have extra money, so you expect them to hand it over to you????

I am very sorry, but I can't even begin to see your point of view on this one. Unless there is a whole lot more to this story, I see you as someone who needs to look at the big picture and stop focusing only on yourself. You have a lot of positive things going on in your life and you need to focus on those things and stop focusing on what you don't have or the things you think you should have.

Your Dad told you he loved you when you asked for the favor, so my thinking is he is trying to make you understand it's time for you to stand on your own two feet. So what if he is addicted to food? Apparently he already knows this and chooses to do nothing about it. So, the best thing for you to do is to love your Dad and accept him as he is......Someday you won't have him at all and then you will miss him.
