alright i just have to but in here. the idea that it is your female side that forgives and your male side that holds grudges and the like is nonsense. i swear we have gone from perenially denigrating the female to perenially denigrating the male in this country.

both sides of human nature feed into hatred and resentment in their own special way, and both sides must reach out to bring in peace and forgiveness. you cannot truly live a balanced life in exclusivley one side of human nature.

i think the female sided is more "accepting" while the male side is more willing to take a risk, reach out and make amends. both of those are needed to create forgiveness. maybe forgiveness is conceived in the female side, but it is accomplsihed by the male side.

the other thing is that forgiveness is not making excuses for someone elses behaviour. it is choosing to let go even though they may have had absolutely no good reason to do what they did whatsoever. if you base your forgiveness on what kind of excuse you can come up with for their actions then your forgiveness will be limited, some actions have no excuse, what will you do then?
