FOOD & Carbohydrates & Sugar
Hello all,
I am new in this forum. I dont know where else to post this.
Barefoot Herbalist doesnt believe in mixing foods etc..
i am learning a lot but totally conflicted.
I have been working to eliminate refined sugars and carbohydrates from my diet, including the daily intake of coffee.
I am doing a major overhaul of my diet one bit at a time. I am also trying to lose weight.
Here are some of the foods I've been eating:
-Grains-
Oatmeal
Oat Bran
Flax Cereal
rye crackers
sprouted whole grain breads
-Vegetables-
salads
steamed vegetables
raw veggie medley (as a snack)
garden burgers
-Meat-
albacore tuna
sausage (rare occasion)
turkey deli meat
-Fruit
Unsweetened cranberry juice
100% pineapple juice & apple juice
apples
strawberries
raisins
frozen cherries, rasberries, blueberries
cashews & almonds
-Liquids-
water
tea
soy milk
-Sugars-
Evaporated Cane Juice
Pure Cane Sugar
Honey
I notice that I get a lot of carbohydrates in my diet.
I dont believe in Low-Carb, because they are essential in brain function and energy.
i also am not interested in stocking up on meats and animal fats with hormone crap.
I am asking the Quintessential question of Carbs & Sugars.
What are good Complex Carbs? Is there such thing as too much complex carbs?
or is it too much if Simple Carbs that cause weight gain?
And Complex Sugars... Wouldnt these be considered
Sugar found in its natural and unrefined form? ie. Raw Honey, Pure cane sugar, evaporated cane juice.
Really could use everyone's thoughts on these.
thanks
Cindy
