Re: your basmati rice idea sound great too
You have raised a fine son I might add! I bet your very proud of him, he knows his way around the kitchen and knows the best lifestyle! May blessings continue to be showered upon your household.
The skins are toxic? I blanche them too and remove them, but didntk know that. I do notice however ( see if this is my imagination) sometimes it looks as though those puppies have been chewed on my er uh... rodents... you can tell by looking at the bite marks when there are two sets of them, top and bottom. We all learned they sit in warehouses and things happen. Oh well, thats nice when you can first blanche, then deskin, wash and then fry. ;)
Its also nice when you can fry the nuts up in the oil of your choice, after the rice is done sprinkle the crunchy nuts atop and drip that little oil on the rice. When you feel like something sweet or a change for your rice, its great to throw in raisins ( white or red ) at the very last minute of browning the nuts, they fry up quickly, a couple seconds and they puff up so you have to keep stirring, delicious with the nuts and the salty rice.
:)
