Not primarily, although being lean and muscled, it was somewhat of a concern. The reason I added protein to the lemonade is because I am (i think that's becoming WAS!) hypoglycemic. In no way, shape, or form could i have done the fast otherwise.
Sunday morning with the lemonade drink as stated was excruciating and I'd never have made it. I switched to molasses in the afternoon, but it was still a bit tough. The protein made a BIG difference.
As of today - day 4 - I am doing lemon juice, all maple syrup, and 2t of spirulina flakes per 5 cups of drink. So far, I'm doing fine.
