This is exactly what everyone has been doing. There have been regrettable personal attacks by some but mostly it has just been passionate debate. I think the point you are trying to make is that you think that we are going away from only discussing Christianity, well nothing could be further from the truth. Any religion we discuss here has always been in the light of how it relates to Christianity and how they differ or are similar. I think a lot of Christians on the board have been frustrated because they are often arguing with purely biblical quotes and those tend not to hold up very well against debaters who can quote the bible as well as use contemporary sources to bolster there opinion but in no way is this straying from the Forum Rules . If you believe that Christianity is of God then any subject you discuss is relevant to Christianity in the view that God created everything that we could ever talk about any way. The Forum Rules are not being broken just because some people’s views are not holding up well under scrutiny but that’s the purpose of debate so that we can learn from each other and that’s how we try to reason among each other what is true...with our own thoughts and what we may consider divine inspiration.

Califlady, I seem to recall you commending Mccarty right after a personal attack on thorn in which he attempted to bring the mans personal life into the debate rather then any valid argument. Do you think it is a violation of the rules to support that sort of behavior?

A support forum is a sanctuary; a debate forum, by its very nature, is going to bring up issues that some wish would not be discussed because they are a bit too challenging for theirs or others ears to hear. But this should not chase you away, please be brave because your input is valuable. Tweet
