Re: The Christian Debate Forum Is About....
Atlantis,
you said "If an individual or group's real purpose for attending the
Christianity Debate Forum is to disprove Christianity. I think their expectations will be a disappointment to them.
What is your real purpose darkgatherer?"
You clearly have not been reading my posts or you would understand that I have no intention to disprove Christianity or to make those who believe in no longer believe. If it is the intention of anyone else to attempt to attempt to disprove Christianity through their arguments in this forum then I certainly think that is their right to try and do. Whether they will be disappointed or not by the outcome is entirely a construct of their own mind. You seem to imply that my motive, that I have stated many times before, is somehow not genuine and that I have some hidden agenda. In doing so you are questioning my honesty and I take that as
I will direct you to read this previous post of mine

You said “After reading you and Thorn's pro islamic views on the islam forum, I can not understand why you and Thorn prefer to attack Christianity rather than discuss Christianity.”
Lol, I have made maybe only a handful of posts in the Islamic forum and I can assure you that I am no more “pro Islamic” then I am pro Christian. I believe all views are valid and I see neither as being superior to the other. All I have done there is begin to ask questions as well and be respectful to those of that faith, as I have been here. Again I have never, not even once, “attacked” Christianity all I have done is ask questions just as have begun to do in the Islamic forum. Is questioning the tenets of Christianity considered an attack? I certainly don’t think so. I challenge anyone to show any instance where I attacked Christianity. You make this statement about attacking Christianity as though it is a fact but nothing could be further from the truth. But on the other hand I have been attacked and called names for simply questioning. It seems that many people on this forum don’t like to see any questions raised that are difficult to answer and so then they consider it an attack. If someone’s beliefs cannot hold up under scrutiny is that the fault of the person questioning or of the belief system.
You said “Personally, I feel that Mccarty used great restraint and patience in responding to Thorn's messages, and great pains to explain each subject Thorn presented. And some of thorn's messages were so slanderous they had to be removed.”
I certainly don’t condone some of the comments that thorn makes but that is for the
Webmaster to deal with but I think it should infuriate everyone here that someone would attempt to bring someone’s personal health issues into a debate. If you had cancer and were discussing it on the
Cancer Forum , would it be ok for someone to bring your cancer up in a debate about Christianity? In fact I think that is disgusting and any messages that mccarty may have written afterward are already tainted with the seed of this act. I have always considered most Christians to be fair minded and honest but to see yourself, and every other Christian on this forum, completely ignore this act is mind boggling to me. There is just no excuse for that kind of comment or the turning of a blind eye that has gone on here.
You said “Is this the way you "darkgatherer" and Thorn prefer to debate Christianity?”
Again there were never any attacks by me and any honest Christian here will tell you that, all I have done is debate. Questioning is how one begins a debate and then we argue the merits of the question that is on the table. So that point is pretty dead already.
If myself, Thorn, John Cullison, etc. were not here it would cease to be a debate forum and would turn into a group of people with exactly the same views patting each other on the back and no one would benefit from that. I think people are getting all up in arms around here because their arguments are not holding up and the points that I have made, as well as those of John Cullison, are ruling the day. In a debate, Christianity is going to be questioned and that in no way equals an attack.
