Didn't say I had the truth, did I?
All beliefs are just that... beliefs. If it is true to you, and aids in your spiritual development, and does not harm or impede the spiritual evolution others, then it is valid. Period.
However, in many cases, whole populations have been wiped out for believing minor variations of the same religion. And whole civilizations have been wiped out by opposing religions.
Religion, in itself, can be a restrictive, dangerous and destructive force if the believers are dogmatic, intolerant and need to either spread their faith and their TRUTH by force or wipe out another culture's faith as evil. Religion can be a force for great good or great harm.
I am a spiritual being and I have acknowledged many truths from many religions. I do not find your brand of Christianity serves me, however if it works for you... great. I just happen to resonate with an earlier, and in my mind, less altered and adulterated form of Christianity. Your isn't wrong and mine right. And visa versa. All beliefs, if used to evolve spiritually are right and proper.
At any rate, if our hearts are pure and our intentions honest, and if we show tolerance, compassion and love for our fellow man, regardless of who or where they are, then we are doing 'good work' for the soul.
Therefore, your truth can be your rock, and mine can be mine, even though they differ greatly in outward appearance. It is the inner truth of how and what we are and how we live our lives and help others on our journey through life and on our quest to know God that really matters.
