you are too young to let the doctor cut your GB out ... in your case, there is absolutely no reason to opt for surgery.
Considering your age and considering it is just a "sludge", I am sure that 1, 2 or max 3 flushes will be more then enough to have your GB clean and new.
Then, you can go back to your doc and try to teach him a little ...
