My juicing story
Hi, I've been
juicing on and off but mostly on for 4 years and have been
juicing daily for at least a year. I remmber when I first started
juicing that it really made me go to the bathroom but I had sluggish bowels so it was good.
Now juicing is just part of my morning routine. I can't directly relate health benefits from juicing because I lead a pretty healthy life. But if I think about it, last year when I wasn't juicing for a while, I started getting mini-GB attacks and this year (while I've been juicing daily) I've hardly had any. I never get colds and neither does my husband- so that could be a health benefit too.
I juice carrot, beetroot, beetroot leaves, ginger, lemon (with the peel because it protects from skin cancer) and apple or pear. Occasionally I put in parsley or
Celery or even broccoli stems - whatever I have on hand. I have one of those slow masticating juicers which is supposed to protect the enzymes in the juice. Last few days, I've started adding kefir whey or rejuvelac to the juice. I also mix the juice with a probiotic powder and a chlorophyl powder (spirulina, barley, chlorella). I'm keen to start wheatgrass juicing but haven't got myself organised yet.
My friend also juices religiously every day. She is now 2 years past finishing chemo/radiation for very serious oesophageal/voicebox cancer that they said she would not survive. Apart from the radiation damage to her throat, she is alive and well. Juicing is the only thing that she feels has made a big difference. She has done other alternative things but usually given them away after a while, feeling that they aren't making any difference. She eats lots of salads too. We both buy organic fruit/veg.
So, that's my juicing story!! I heard that at first your body detoxes with the juicing and then it adjusts. I just figure it's giving me lots of vitamins and enzymes that I may not otherwise be getting.
Fil :-)
