How successful were your ESWL's??

Hi there,

I am looking for some other cases of ESWL, and how successful or unsuccessful they were?? I am 30 years old and currently six weeks post partum following my second child. Two weeks ago I awoke with severe abdominal and lower back pain with vomiting. I could not believe how bad the back pain was, it made childbirth look like a walk in the park!! I went to the ER and found out I had a 9 mm kidney stone. Since I was vomiting and the urologist would not be in until the next day (it was a Sunday), they admitted me and ended up doing a stent the next day. After two weeks the stone had moved down the ureter, but was still there...so I have just had ESWL. I have read and spoken to some other cases and am seeing a lot of unsuccessful results to the first try. My doctor seemed fairly confident that this procedure should work, but I am so worried and frustrated. I know that two weeks of this is nothing compared to some of the stories that I have read, but I am curious to know of some of your experiences. Please share!!

Best wishes,
Jennifer
