Re: WHY I HATE THE MC (but it may be good for you!)
Here's what's helped me. Once a week for 2-4 weeks just skip one meal. Then skip two and just eat supper. Drink only water (purified/distilled, big debate on this). Finally get up to going 24 hours with just water. After you've achieved that (I do it weekly) you'll have cleased a bunch. Then you can look around at all the fasting options. There are a million. Water takes great determination, but you can go 10 days, work, and feel great. Myself, I just fast on water once a week as a practice. I'm on day 7 of Master Cleanse with salt water flushes, P/B shakes, and P123
parasite cleanse. It's been a breeze compared to water. There are many cleanses around that don't involve so much sweetner. I love the lemonade, could drink it for a year I think. I'm down 12
pounds in 6 days (some of which will return as stored bowel matter when refeeding begins).
I wouldn't give up. Search around and experiment. There is no perfect formula for everyone. There is little agreement on how to fast. Joel Furhman, M.D. treats just with water fasts. Bragg suggests one day a week and 7-10 days quarterly, but his daughter (he died surfing in his 70s or 80s) does one day a week and 3 days quarterly.
At the end of the MC/Ultimate I'm doing a
Liver Flush and I'll put on the board what my experience has been. I'm 58 and it's taken over 35 years for me to work out a regimen. It's not about a one time cleanse, it's about a healthy lifestyle you can adopt, and it will change as you get older and get more experience. Hang in there. Mike D
