After reading the story carefully for the second time, I feel that the so called dr smith is not really concerned doctor.
He should have at least visit your father or just give call your family members.

Probably, he is also trained under a branch of medical Science and ought to have some knowledge of health. Indigestion is not his specialism and he is unfitted to express any opinion in this area.

Well, have you ever thought of bringing the case medical court. Though he might be on the winning side, anyhow, his name is already blacklisted after the case and in some way, this can prenvet further mistakes of similar types from happening .
