Re: DIET HELP

Hey Ladybug,
I'd like to share what my parents myself and a few of my friends have been doing with some good success. The very basic idea is similar to what natev said about poison. But more specifically those poisons are acids. basically the only place your body can safely store acid is in fats because it can be disolved into fat since it is a polar molecule and can thus bond to the free charge of the acid. So when your diet or lifestyle in some way is overly acidic, in order to protect the very important pH balance of your blood, your body may resort to storing excess acids in fat tissues, as well as leaching minerals from surrounding tissues such as muscle and bone to try and neutralize the acid, and increasing the release of LDL cholesterol to try and chilate the acid (bond to the acid and flush from the body) and protect the arteries from the damaging effects of the acid. You may not realize it but that fat maybe saving your life. If your body couldn't store the acids, they may have caused serious illness or death by now. The key to losing weight then, if you are overly acidic, is to provide your body with alkalizing foods, and to speed things up add some supplements that provide high concetrations of minerals and nutrients and are highly alkalizing to your body. A body that is in balance should naturally seek it's own ideal weight. Trying to deal with an over acid problem simply with dietary changes is certainly possible, but will most likely take a long time. Your body did not get enough acid from your diet to build up those fat stores overnight, and will certainly not get enough alkalizing material and nutrients to neutralize the released acids from fat overnight either. There are some simple dietary supplements (not pills) that you can add to your diet that will help to tip the scales in your favor. Providing the equivalent minerals and nutrients of 12-16 lbs of vegetables every day. Personally I don't think I could eat more than one or two pounds of actual vegetables. As far as the effectiveness. Well, I've lost 25 lbs and have now settled within range of my ideal weight (212 lbs and I'm 6'8"), my dad has lost 20 lbs. (and he says he has no more love handles :-P, I'm in a different state, so i wouldn't know) my mom has gone from gaining 12 lbs in three months to losing 10 in the last 6 weeks, another friend of mine just stopped drinking coffee and added the supplements (which comes with quite a bit of water) and lost 27 lbs. in two months and here cholesterol dropped from ~350 to 245. Now she can exercise a little. She's an amputee and had lots of trouble getting around on her prosthetic with so much extra weight, but just losing some of it has opened up whole new possibilities. At least for my family we have all noticed that it even helps with recovery from exercise and reduces the muscle pain. Ok, I've been typing way too much, sorry, I try to keep these things short, I really do, but I get excited when I have a chance to share what I've found is working so well for my family and I. Any way, so you should read the book this is all based on called "sick and tired? reclaim your inner terrain" by Dr. Robert O. Young, micro-biologist and nutritionist. If you have any specific questions, or want more information, or anything, feel free to email me. Take care, and best of health, Mike
