I can't answer your question because I'm not knowledgeable enough about ayurveda.
From my own experience I am essentially a Vata with a Pitta imbalance at the moment (heat, and hence, the acne). So I eat foods which support Vata and are Pitta-pacifying. I have found that when I follow the diet carefully, eating becomes a very spiritual experience and that I feel very calm and content.
I would suggest looking at Andreas' book the Key to Health and Rejuvenation carefully and if you have specific questions about which diet to follow, to ask Andreas' specifically.
