Borage is beautiful! I've been eyeing it in Johnny's catalogs for some time now.
I don't know how to wean people off their poisons. Maybe you could find some statistics for sis regarding declining health of the soil over time. People think that stuff works because the effects are so immediate.also show her a comparison chart on the nutrient values of organically vs. chemically grown veggies. Now if we could only get those critters to behave! Regarding weeds? I posted something on that in the gardening forum & got some interesting replies. We only weed where we have to (like goats-heads in walkways). Weeds benefit the soil greatly. We have some about to flower that finches LOVE!!!We have an advantage, living rurally. No cc&r's. It's also WAY easier to not weed too much!!
Sounds like you have a fabulous mint crop going! Invasive = easy to grow. Yay!
And yeah, robins are cool. pretty fearless.
Isn't it crazy that people are so afraid of bees & wasps? Yet they're not afraid to drive..or eat at McDonalds!
