Oh
Is it ok if I call you "oh"? We also have no shortage of winged creatures. We are lucky enough to live in a rural area next to a state park/bird sanctuary. & All of it surrounded by BLM land. It's horse country here, people garden but there is no commercial agriculture, with the exception of one alfalfa field. The thing that worries me the most is the people that maintain their landscaping with roundup & other poisons.
At what point did everything have to have the appearance of perfection? It's an illusion. What is perfect about a landscape that supports nothing? People landscape with one intention, it seems. To give the illusion of wealth. & it's wasteful & shameful. And there is no wealth there.
There are so many of us now that we are constantly displacing other creatures. We take their homes and give them nothing in return.
Maybe I should go to the rants & raves forum with this.
Fireflies! Another thing I haven't seen since leaving the midwest...
Thanks for the Memory...
Yeah, we love our pollinators. They all love Mint!!! Yesterday I counted at least 8 kinds of wasps, honeybees, some little tiny orange moths & darner dragonflies on our patch. Plant Mint! It is invasive...so plant accordingly...
