i'm an admitted Conspiracy theory buff, but this borders on the scary. maybe they've gotten to me. maybe i've already been implanted with the false memories and cyber-realities. or maybe this is all a really nifty cover for people suffering from mental disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolarism... i abhor pharmaceutical companies as much as the next guy on this forum, but perhaps some lithium IS in order.
years ago, as a hospital volunteer, i was left to "baby-sit" an eastern european prodigy who had jumped off a roof and broken both ankles (it was REEEEALLY ugly) in an attempt to "get away" from the evil people who had implanted chips into his brain and were controlling his mind. it broke my heart to look at this handsome young man, who grabbed my hand, and tearfully pleaded with me to call the president and tell him about what was happening to him. scary thing was, i almost believed him, so sincere were his pleas. i never say never, but if i had to teeter one way over another, i'd say his mind WAS playing tricks on him, and it had nothing to do with any implants. chemical imbalances are a very real, very serious issue. sorry, lapis, i just 'ain't buying into this one.
