I wasn't assuming anything. Nor was I worried about whether I'm getting enough calcium (I'm curious why you assumed I was worried.
I was merely wondering about this issue because I'd read a site which article mentioned that many proteins don't contain calcium, rendering those proteins acidic. From that I deduced that the author was implying that when protein *does* contain calcium, that alkalizes it. Which got me wondering about nuts & cheese.

Now, re: the lemon issue:
I don't care what the authorities say about lemon being alkalizing. The fact is, that for *me* lemon & other citrus, pineapple & kiwi brings on abnormal bleeding, irritates me, & causes tongue sores and pimples-in-odd-areas. I can tolerate lemon if mixed with yogurt, but believe it or not, even when I used to eat lemon CAKE, I'd still feel tingly. I'd also get a slight sore-throat and coldy.
