Re: another Torontonian who faced the candida challenge
Hi there,
I, too, live in Toronto ( with SARS we are finally getting famous or is it infamous???).
Re: constipation with the bentonite/ psyllium / caprol etc protocol: In my experience I have found that
Bentonite does have a constipating effect, even if it does not show up as a sensitive item on your print out from Red Paw. Psyllium can be binding, too. The trick is to add WAY WAY more water! Experiment...
The purpose of
Bentonite is to draw toxins out of the system while psyllium is a bulking agent (similar to flax seeds)that will take care of proper elimination. If there are real sensitivities to bentonite, how about considering
Green Clay instead? I have used it quite successfully. Health food stores (definitely the Big Carrot)sell this powder in boxes, it is quite inexpensive.
For those of you in Toronto, I would recommend to at least get a print out from Red Paw, so you know what to avaid and what you can still eat( Guess what? You will probably test O.K. with okra). A year or so later, get another print-out. Sensitivities change.
Someone at The Kulhay Wellness cente at Yonge and St. Clair also does the same type of dermal skin testing. Another way of checking for sensitivities is to have someone who knows what they are doing muscle test you.
Don't get discouraged. Fighting candida takes lots of patience and perseverance, but it's well worth it! Wishing you Good Health!
