One thing that does make sense is a trend toward rebellion to the loss of manufacturing jobs to the lower
labor cost Asian workers. The standard of living in the US is already falling and there is a constant
trend to contract out even high tech jobs to the East.
I have always been in favor of each country manufacturing for its's own needs and not for those who have a
much higher cost of living. Unfortunately, manufacturers are greedy and would put profit ahead of
having too many manufacturing plants all over the world.
Of course, we can blame the countries with all the smokestacks for polluting the world without the need to
solve the problem... just keep moving the smokestacks.
