Please collaborate...."what other people are thinking"
I would like to make a collaborative poem with the other forum members here. Not sure quite how it should go, but I'll take a stab at it.
I have been thinking a lot about how we busy ourselves with wondering, worrying, speculating about what other people may be thinking, busying our own overburdened minds, when what we may be speculating is completely off the mark. For example, someone ahead of me sees me struggling with some bags and fails to hold open door for me in the train station. I may think he is thoughtless, or racist, or self-abosorbed. I may occupy my mind for some minutes wondering. If, instead of projecting, I were to tune-in or intuit, perhaps I would learn he has just received bad news, or a first kiss or some important insight. What a beautiful place it is where we intuit, rather than project.
I will start off, with a quote and the first few lines. I wonder if you can reply with something very truthful, that you are thinking, not necessarily at the moment at hand, but at some moment in time recently, when you were thinking something that no-one would have guessed you were. If you format it into a couple of lines, I will copy and paste it into my starting post, so that we end up with a longer poem of "what other people are thinking".
You may also decide to post a deep intuition about what another is thinking (no names please), but it must come from a generous spirit and ask yourself whether it is true first. No details needed, more in the realm of feeling.
I will not refuse or censor or change any thoughts of others....maybe just correct spelling or typos if need be.
Please indulge me. I am curious to see what we come up with.
