Re: Odor coming from anus, please read (lengthy).

Coincidentally my son just turned 4 yrs old. For the past 3 months, I've noticed his butt has a horrible odor. I still wipe him after he goes poop & his underware has NO stains. Another kid in his class thought someone had a poop in their diaper, but it was my son. You don't even have to put your nose up near his anus to smell it - the odor just flows out, (not to mention sticks to his pants, etc). Just having him sit next to you on the couch & you can smell the odor. He has a normal bowel movement everyother day. His PJ's are washed everyother day & he takes a bath everyother night and it just isn't enough. I asked the pediatrian & he suggested my son was lactose intolerant. My son's been on lactose free milk for almost 3 weeks & it hasn't made a difference. To my knowledge he doesn't pass gas excessively, but obviously there is a problem. I don't want him to be ridiculed when he goes to grade school, but it is a problem & the odor is offensive. Just wondering if you found any solution OR if anyone else has one, I'm all ears.THANK YOU ! Tweet
