Just FYI - I believe it is ILLEGAL for a doctor to withold the results of your medical tests, or anything else in your medical file, if you have requested a copy.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO YOUR MEDICAL RECORD! It is YOUR record. Do not let doctors or their administrators bully you. If you are asked to pay a small copying fee, pay it, and get a new doctor.

I once had to threaten to get the US Attorney's office involved in order to get medical records released. 15 minutes after I gave them the name of the person at the US attorney's office and asked if they would prefer to talk to him, that doctor's office called me back and told me a copy of the entire file was complete and waiting for me to pick it up.

They know the law. They just pretend they don't. Don't let the docs fool ya. Tweet
