You should reconsider the Sugar test as it will indicate if you have developed gestational diabetes. If you have, it needs to be addressed, mainly through diet. If it is not taken care of, your baby could have problems at birth with hypoglycemia among other things. Not to mention all the health problems it could cause for you. It could even result in serious problems for your baby before he/she is born.

If it is found that you do indeed have gestational diabetes, or are "borderline", it will most likely be treated through dietary changes, whilch will result in a healthy baby and a healthy you. (Gestational diabetes goes away after the baby is born)

For the record, I totally agree about the genetic testing. I wouldn't abort anyway, so why take a test that MIGHT indicate that there MIGHT be something wrong. Pregnancy can be stressful enough without all that!
