Breeding dogs

I, too, am a lover of all of our doggy friends. I have adopted several from our shelter over time, and agree that it would be responsible to love these unwanted "babies."

At the time we were considering breeding dogs, we had a AKA registered champion bloodline male chocolate Labradour that we were getting paid $250 per service to female chocolates. Show quality Lab pups go for around $250- $300 each around here, or more if you're a reputable breeder with seeded dogs. A good mother will deliver 2 litters of 8 pups apiece per year. Alas, someone else had the same thing in mind, and stole our male. Three female chocolate labs were stolen that same week. Go figure.

So, although we had considered the opportunity, we are not planning on breeding dogs in the near future.

Blessings,
-Donna
