Re: Queation about possible liver damage from liver cleanse
Protein in the urine was not likely caused by cleanses that she did. It is a sign of a condition called toxemia which can occur during pregnancy and can become serious if not treated properly. The danger in toxemia is a condition of high toxicity in the body which can cause liver damage. Other symtoms include water retention and hypertension. Does she have any of these?
It is important to follow a good nutritional program and provide herbal supplementation. You might want to purchase a book by John R. Christopher and Cathy Gileadi called "Every Woman's Herbal". You can get this book from the School of Natural Healing website, www.snh.cc and go to Christopher Publications. You can also get the book from herbsfirst.com as well as some of the herbal nutritional products that I am going to suggest.
What is her diet like right now? Is she taking any herbs or other kinds of nutritional supplements now? What are her bowel movements like now? Any signs of constipation or diarrhea? What else has the doctor said or proposed for treatment? Is she interested and willing to make and use herbal preparations? Here's a few suggestions to start with.

For calcium, do not take calcium tablets, but use the Dr. Christopers "Calc Tea" formula which you can get from herbsfirst.com. Also plenty of calcium rich foods and dark leafy greens.
